What are a few of your go-to beauty products?
This Scar Gel just got added to my list as I just began to try it out. I used to use Neosporin when I thought I was starting to form an acne scar, but when I tried this it took it away in a day! I always catch them before they turn into scars so that may make a difference too when using the product.
I am honestly skeptical when it comes to nail and hair enhancers. I just try to be as natural as possible and I do not take supplements for this, but when I got this serum my friend told me I had to try and let me tell you, my lashes have never been longer.
Lash primer just sounds like an extra coat of mascara, right? Wrong. This one makes a huge difference no matter what mascara I layer it with. It always adds length and volume.
This Sephora liquid eyeliner is the best! I hate the felt tip liquid liners, but this one has a brush tip which makes it super easy to have a sharp wing. I tried another brand before and it just did not compare in my book.
This setting spray has gotten me through very long nights and unlike others that I have tried, it does not bring out the creases in my makeup when it settles. Definitely a steal.
In remembrance of 9/11 and in acknowledgment of all of the chaos that is currently in the world, I wanted to do a Friday Faves that is uplifting and allows for spreading the good. I recommend that you also do one kind thing for another person today and try to make it a goal to do so daily.

I have really been into health + wellness recently and I have been enjoying listening to podcasts because you get to hear a bit about what works for someone else that might work for you. That gave me an idea to reach out to a few of my friends to ask what they do for their health + wellness routine in general. I did not give any guidelines because I know that looks different for everyone. I love the range of answers that came about and I thought it might be helpful for you too.

“Wellness starts with loving yourself. When you love yourself you choose what will work for you best in all aspects of life!”

“Drink a lot of water, have good sex and get your beauty sleep.”
Gina from @gigitrends
Establish a solid, healthy morning routine. “Having a healthy morning routine that I follow every day has really changed my life. Finding what gets me motivated and stress-free to start my day on a good note. So I read The Daily Stoic every day, journal my thoughts, drink lots of water, and do a meditation. Just a few things that get my mind ready to tackle on the day.”

“Be kind to yourself and your body. Fuel it with healthy Whole Foods & you will see a change in your overall health & skin.”
Genesis from @genesiskubilis
“Prioritize my mental health whether it’s getting extra sleep, drinking water, or journaling. My mental health comes first.”
Alexis from @lexialcala
“When it comes to health and wellness for me it’s all about a balance. But some things I don’t skip out on are my Vitamin C pull every morning and adding Ashwagandha to my smoothie. I also have incorporated 15 minutes of meditation yoga, depending on my day I’ll do this first thing in the morning or end my day with it. I don’t like to follow along to a video because that can be a little distracting for me, so instead, I set my 15-minute alarm, turn on my music and just start stretching/moving. Food-wise, I keep it strict 4 days out of the week meaning no bread, very little sugar, and adding greens/veggies into all my meals. The other days I’ll keep 2 meals healthy and maybe splurge for one of the meals because I’m a foodie and food makes me happy.”
Vanessa from @whatvanessawears
“I love my morning juices to start off my day. Green juice in the morning and later in the day I’ll have a carrot juice to take my sweet tooth away. And lots of water and a good 7-8 hour sleep.”
Diana from @ootd.diana
“So my #1 tip for mental health is always putting at least 10 minutes a day for self-care. With an extremely busy schedule, it’s easy to forget about the little things and become overwhelmed and stressed. But it is always good to know how to slow down and unwind. Even if it is something as simple as doing yoga for 5-10 minutes before you start your day, journaling, watching your favorite blogger on Youtube, or putting on a face mask before bed. Do it for you.
Gina from @teeniegeniestyle
“At least 8 hours of sleep and drink at least a gallon of water a day. It will improve your skin, mood, energy, and the best part it’s free.

Daily tips that she lives by
- Drink lots of water (I shoot for 64 oz daily) I add lemon to make it more fun
- Try to eliminate all processed sugars
- Read the ingredients label on everything to make sure you’re eating clean
- Never sleep with your makeup on. I do my skincare routine EVERY NIGHT (& morning too)
“Also I’ve come to realize that it’s ok if I only have time for 15 min workout because some movement is better than nothing. I used to beat myself up if I couldn’t get a full hour-long workout in but not I’ve been loving short daily workouts!”
Debby from @trynfinddebby
“I would say one of my favorite tips is to listen to your body. Your body is different from everyone else’s and it’s important to know what works for you and what doesn’t
I recently listened to an IG LIVE with Lauryn Evarts-Bosstick from The Skinny Confidential and Mona Vand on wellness. Now, these two are probably the queens of wellness. I wanted to share a few of their tips from the talk and touch on a few wellness points of my own that I have tried to incorporate in my routine.
I think what works for one person of course isn’t going to work for everyone, but there are a few things that do help a majority of people. As Lauryn said, “you’re your own guinea pig”. I think that really resonated with me especially when I form my skincare/workout/eating routine. I try to find that perfect combination that works for me.
Another point that Mona mentioned that stuck out to me was that one of her biggest wellness tips was to eat real food. I have actually read something on this a while back and if you think about it, it makes SO much sense. Cutting out processed foods and foods that come in boxes and packages just don’t seem as healthy as fresh fruits and veggies. Try limiting your intake of food that comes from a package and shop fresher options. You will probably eat more but feel better.

I have to start off my Friday Faves with the new Fenty Skin collection. I am a big fan of the makeup line and Rihana’s attention to diversity and detail. I listened to a podcast by The Fat Mascara and I trust their judgment; I also really want to try the SPF moisturizer because I was just thinking the other day that I need a new one that acts as a good primer. Also, a Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum? YES PLEASE. You had me at the name, sign me up.

I’ve been dipping a bit more into skincare since I read that skinfluencers are becoming more popular. Also, ever since I’ve been back in Texas I have been getting small pimples on my forehead which also prompted my interest. I started seeing how many girls have long routines, and while I have a few more steps in my nighttime skincare regimen, I do not do more than a few steps. My skin responds best when I do not put a lot of product on it, and I will try a weekly mask to compensate for the steps I took out. I would stay that you should definitely find what works for your skin and stick with it.
I like to follow up with the YTTP resurfacing energy facial, I feel like it really helps get anything out that was left in my pores from the night before
Eye cream is a must for me because I am prone to dark circles. Recently I’ve been using bye bye under eye cream by IT Cosmetics
Lastly, I apply my sunscreen to my face, neck and the tops of my hands. I’ve been using this one from drunk elephant because it feels so light

I read recently that Beauty Influencers are becoming a thing. While I definitely have more of an interest in the fashion industry, I think it is super important to cater to your audience. So I decided to add a hint of beauty into the blog. Instead of sugar, spice, and everything nice, think oversized satchels, printed midi skirts, and a hint of facial rejuvenating serum.
There has always been a beauty wishlist up on my blog page to see what I am currently swooning over, but I’ve started being more interactive on the beauty front on my Instagram stories to share any new findings as far as beauty products.
One product I recently shared was a BHA liquid exfoliant from Paula’s Choice. I had received a sample from an event I attended and I finally got around to trying it and I loved it! My pores shrunk and I now dab it on my face a few times a week along with a peptide booster with amino acid complex.
Here are the results from my recent Beauty Polls
If I am being honest, I never really wore sunscreen unless I was going for a long day at the beach, but now I try to wear it every day on my face and hands. I also drink a ton more water because I can really see the difference overall. The sunscreen also helps keep my face a similar shade so I do not have to change my foundation as often.
I tend to make my nighttime routine longer too because I like to let my products really set in. In the morning I do a light wash and put on a light face cream with SPF in it before a workout. Afterward, I wash my face for one minute as advised by LaBeautyologist then I add my toner from Kopari and apply sunscreen/facial cream. Nighttime tends to be similar but instead has the liquid exfoliant and peptide booster or serum to go under my cream.
To really get a good clean face sometimes I do a “double wash” so I will use my wipes and then wash my face or I use micellar water and then wash my face, again for one minute. I know you don’t really HAVE to but that’s what makes me feel the cleanest.
