I’ve seen similar pictures all over social media so I wanted to take a crack at it myself! (That’s the phrase, right?) I usually HATE the way my hair looks when it’s pulled back, but the towel gives the illusion of hair so I thought it was super cool! I love the glam feel of it and while there are a few things I would change about these pictures, I am still relatively happy about how they came out!
So let’s get right into the post. It’s about body positivity and if I am being honest, I was not very body positive about this shoot! I feel bloated, and a bit insecure. But, let me tell you, once I got in the water and felt how good it felt, I forgot all about that! That my dears is what life is all about. While I am still going to work my little tush off to be back to where I want to be, it is important to be happy with the body you’re in no matter what part of your fitness journey you are at.
Even on bloated days like this, I am actually SUPER comfortable in my body. I remember in middle school a girl in my guidance class said that even though her older sister was bigger, she was still so comfortable in her body and she envied that. I thought to myself that I would not feel comfortable if I was as big as her sister was, though she was not huge.
Our guidance counselor said that most girls get to an age when they are just comfortable where they are at and while they may sill strive to be better, they still don’t mind wearing a bikini at the beach or cute mini skirts to show off! I thought, no, if I’m not small I wouldn’t feel that way.
I am happy to report that I have gotten to that point in like that my counselor was talking about! What helps keep it all in perspective as well is to remember what a blessing it is to have a working body, or a body at all.
