My Dream Job

It’s life update time! I completed my first week of work at a job I have been wanting for a while! I, of course, am super into fashion and entertainment so naturally, when I heard about PR showrooms I was intrigued. I had not experienced it yet and I think everyone was a little worried when I stopped working at my old PR job in social media and started an internship at a showroom. It was unpaid and I worked at a store at the mall to get by but I knew I needed experience since I had no idea how a showroom functioned at first. Luckily I learned the ropes and was ready to apply for new jobs. I landed an interview at POP PR and after researching the brands they represented I loved it! I was truly blessed to be hired as a fashion assistant and I am excited to see where this journey takes me.

So what is a PR Showroom? I would describe it as a PR management of multiple clothing brands to lend out for celebrity/influencer shoots. It can include gifting, but mostly creates press for the clothes that are shot for magazines, in music videos, and at press events.

As a fashion assistant, so far I have gotten to know the brands, have written a pitch or two, created media lists and assisted in appointments with stylists that come in looking for the perfect outfit for their clients. While I probably cannot name the celebrities we have seen in some of the clothes, let me say there are some A-list names for sure!

This is exactly what I envisioned for myself when I wanted to land my “dream job” a year ago. I never knew this was apart of Public Relations and I am so glad I found it! The people I work with seem very determined and work-driven, but very funny and know how to balance work and play! I am excited to get to know them better and learn so much from them. I will do more updates as more milestones unfold with my job. I am so so excited for my second week of work already!

  2. Congratulations on getting your dream job – so many people never attain that and it’s a wonderful and exciting place to be when you do find that perfect one! That color and style looks wonderful on you and I love that you can wear the blazer as a dress. I think I’ve just found the blazer I have to have. Both the lime green and the coral are gorgeous and you can’t beat the price. The sandals are perfect with it.
