What I do at Work

So I know that I haven’t really expressed what I do at work so I thought I would write a post as not even my parents really understand! I have had a few other jobs leading up to this one and this is the one that I have been most happiest with and it is really expanding my career.

I work in a showroom in Los Angeles. I had no idea what a showroom was until I got here but now I think this is what I had been looking for! So there are various kinds of showrooms, mine looks after fashion brands and gets them editorial and celebrity based placement. We loan our independent brands from around the world for commissioned shoot which end up in fashion publications or we loan garments for celebrities to wear to events.

Some showrooms have super well known brands such as PLT, BNKR, Guess, Stewart Weitzman and more!

When a stylist comes in, we assist them in finding garments that match their brief or mood board as well as grow personal relationships with them so we may continue to assist in their upcoming projects. I have seen the garments go from the showroom to those glossy covers that everyone flips through and have seen celebs strutting down the carpet with our pieces.

Every press shot we receive is a win for not only the designer, but the stylist and our agency as well.

I spend my days keeping up with samples, looking for press, assisting stylists in appointments and pitching the brands I look after. The showroom I work in is a boutique showroom which is smaller and has independent brands mostly from London.

I love where I work and who I work with and I have learned so much. I really enjoy learning more about the industry as a whole and I am excited to see where I go from here!
