Music festivals are one of those things that you should splurge on in my opinion! If there are at least three bands you want to see, it is definitely a must! While it can be hot, very overcrowded and expensive, it is a great memory. I want to say this is my third year attending ACL but this one was definitely one of my favorites because I knew so many of the performers. It is also really fun to go earlier and just sit and chill while listening to other bands. There are usually pop-ups as well that give out free things so I would hit those up before watching the performances you want to see!
Even though the music festival is in October and it seems to be a great time weather-wise, weekend one was still SUPER hot because it is still Texas. My makeup definitely sweat off after being pushed around getting to the front, but the food was amazing and I got to see Lizzo, Kasey Musgraves, Billie Eilish, 21 Savage, Cardi B, Mumford and Sons and a few more!
I really like ACL because the selection of the artists is so diverse! You can see country, alternative, hip-hop and pop artists on multiple stages. There is something for everyone and I definitely saw people of all ages in attendance!
Tips for attending:
- Read the rules : Know what you can and cannot bring inside!
- Bring a portable charger
- Dress for the weather
- Have a designated meeting area incase you get lost
- Drink LOTS of water
- Save up for food and drinks
