Leather Jackets

I had been reading a lot more blogs about capsule closets and that made me think about writing a post on the importance of basics. When I buy pieces to show on the blog, most of the time the clothes are what I call statement pieces. I talk about this a lot but those are the ones with a wow effect. I think a leather jacket is a piece that is both a basic and a statement piece in one and that is really hard to find!

I have been wanting a leather jacket for a long time now. I used to use my roommates to take pictures in, but I, of course, needed my own. Leather jackets can range in price depending on the quality and authenticity of the leather. I added a few different types with various price points below in my round up.

A classic black is all I needed because it can dress up a simple jean and tee or make a feminine dress edgy. What I saying is not new, or innovative in any way, but its a good reminder and should be said every once in a while!

I feel that leather jackets are similar to jeans. You have to try on a few before you find your go-tos! I am the kind of girl that likes basics. I do not like any extra buckles or embellishments, and I am even skeptical about the size of the flaps. But I really liked this one and it was sooo inexpensive! I honestly bought this one because I needed a leather jacket asap and it was so cheap. I bought it from the Charlotte Russe closing sale and it was only $25! I will eventually buy another black leather jacket of better quality because I think this is one of those pieces that you have to spend more on because they last a lifetime.

Let’s talk about this shoot super quickly. I loved this idea of shooting with just the jacket and a simple body chain. I was however super skeptical (and I still am) about posting this on my blog and Instagram and all other social media sites because it does bare a lot of skin. However, I think it’s no worse than what I have shot before so I’m just going to go with it and hope for the best!

  1. I love this post. You are rocking that jacket. I love my leather jacket and it’s surprisingly warm. The leather jacket keeps everyone who has one warm and toasty. I don’t like big heavy coats and jacket. But I love my leather jacket a lot. I’ve never had a leather jacket until a few years ago. ❤️😍🥰
